Bellamy WinterBellamy Harbor Park, Rome, NY We received quite a bit of snow last week but the weather forecast for this weekend was rain with freezing rain mixed in. There was a good cover of snow on the landscape and I wanted to photograph Bellamy Harbor Park before the rain washed much of it away. My chances for capturing a sunrise were slim, especially with the call for rain early in the morning, but with a decent cloud cover, the park (and the city) have a glow about them that could produce an interesting image. I arrived at the park an hour before the official sunrise and I knew immediately I would not be seeing the sun. I put on my snowshoes, mounted the camera to the tripod and traipsed across the snow in search of my pictures. I looked for a few different views for this area (I think I found some) before heading to my favorite spot for the wide angle shot of the harbor. I walked around the park until the "official" sunrise time to confirm I would not be seeing it. With the "no show" of the sun, I packed everything back into the car, stopped for a coffee and headed back home. It was a good morning...

Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I will be chronicling my exploration into my photography obsession. I do not have a specific topic or style so the posts will be eclectic and random. I hope that as this site grows you will see improvements in both my photography and my writing.
